The Cupra Born electric car offers an appealing and sporty design, tuning typical of the sports firm. The Cupra's first electric car has a price that is much below the Volkswagen ID.3, the automaker's big bet to bring electric cars closer to the masses and turn them into mass production vehicles.

The Cupra Born electric car has a 110 kWh (150 hp) motor and a 55 kWh battery, which will start at an enticing 31,600 euros, according to the Cupra website (349 kilometers). This pricing is somewhat less than the Volkswagen ID.3, which costs 32,900 euros and has the same mechanical and battery combination.

It is stated in the Cupra configurator that this pricing is indicative. Still, it would be unusual if it varied significantly from here until commercialization, with first deliveries scheduled by the end of this year and production beginning soon in Germany. Customers can also opt for a 150 kW (204 hp) variant with 62 kWh of battery (427 kilometers) for 37,000 euros.

Later on, the Cupra Born is intended to be available with a 77 kWh battery, which would give it a range of over 500 kilometers and a mechanical block that boosts the power to 170 kW (230 hp).

Aside from the costs, it's worth noting that the first Cupra electric has several features in its equipment that make it particularly appealing. First, it has a considerably sportier and riskier appearance than other electric Volkswagen Group vehicles, with which it shares many characteristics.

However, there will be a 12-inch screen inside that will function as the infotainment operations center and a 5.2-inch screen that will store all of the instruments. Bucket seats, a leather-finished and heated steering wheel, aluminum pedals or keyless entry and start, and dual-zone climate control are among the other features in the cabin.

Finally, clients will be able to choose from three different equipment trims within each model. The Advanced trim is focused on driving assistance features, such as adaptive cruise control and intelligent lights. The Pro trim includes these features as well as electric, heated, and massage seats. Finally, the Top trim has a glass roof with Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) and a Beats audio system. @via Cupra.
