The enigmatic Sea Peoples were the protagonists of one of the most influential and most obscure historical events. The Sea Peoples were a group of navigators who terrorized the eastern Mediterranean for almost a century, between 1276 and 1178 BC, most likely triggering the collapse of Bronze Age civilization.

Their main targets were the Egyptians and the Hittite Empire, but no one knows the origin of the invaders. All the inscriptions mentioning them indicate that they appeared out of nowhere, attacked the coast of the southeastern Mediterranean, then sailed back west.
