In Africa, climate change is becoming increasingly dangerous. It is getting warmer, sea levels are rising, rainfall patterns are changing and extreme weather conditions are increasing. In the 2020-2024 period, there will be continuous warming, precipitation will decrease in the north and south of Africa, and precipitation will increase in the Sahel.

Sea levels around the continent have risen 5 millimetres per year, which is 3 to 4 millimetres more than the global average.

Facts from the UN World Meteorological Organization (WMO).
